Sustainable Communities

Clean Energy

We replace wood-burning stoves with solar kitchens to eliminate smoke inhalation and stop deforestation. We also support 2,000+ farmers with solar-powered water systems for year-round, veganic (animal-free) farming, and develop 100% renewable energy and zero-waste systems for all foundation facilities.

We build the practical infrastructure of plant-based, low-impact living in Southern and East Africa.

Clean Water & Community Health

Globally, at least 1.8 billion people use a drinking-water source contaminated with faeces.

According to WHO, around 842 000 people die each year from diarrhea caused by unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and inadequate hygiene – something that is largely preventable.

But when water is not readily available, people might decide handwashing is not a priority, thereby increasing the risk of diarrhoea and other diseases.

The communities we support are among those dependent on unsafe surface water.

With no well, they collect water from shared dams – the same water sources local wildlife drink from. In the dry season, even that runs out, and families have to buy water from elsewhere at significant cost.

We teach people about the importance of personal hygiene to prevent disease, but that's difficult when water is scarce and every drop is prioritized for drinking and crops.

In response, we install community pumping stations for safe, reliable drinking water and protect groundwater through bio-digester toilets.

We also provide health screenings, lifestyle medicine, and plant-based supplement distribution through mobile community outreach.

Empowerment of Women and Girls

We help women of all ages become self-sufficient by teaching practical skills, including cooking, solar maintenance, and regenerative farming, that they can build a living around. We also advise them how to make the most of their income to provide for themselves and their children.

Economic Empowerment

We offer resources for plant-based entrepreneurship and skills development programs for sustainable employment.

Education

We run workshops on nutrition and plant-based cooking, training sessions on sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty, and seminars on the intersection of feminism, environmental justice, and veganism.

Leadership

We develop leadership training for female activists and liaise with global organizations to advance women’s rights through ethical and sustainable food choices

The Seed Loan Program

We provide small-scale vegan farmers with access to high-quality plant-based seeds through low-interest loans – strengthening food security, reducing reliance on animal agriculture, and helping farmers build self-sustaining businesses.

Seeds available include vegetables and legumes (beans, lentils, peas, spinach, kale, carrots), grains and cereals (millet, amaranth, buckwheat), fruit-bearing plants (tomatoes, peppers, melons), and herbs and medicinal plants (turmeric, ginger, basil).

Ethical Revenue

We also build ethical revenue streams to fund our conservation and nonprofit work.

Simbiya Group Ltd began as a small farming initiative and has grown into a full coffee production enterprise, investing in agroprocessing infrastructure so we can roast, grind, and package our own coffee rather than selling raw beans at lower prices. Simbiya Group Ltd is a subsidiary of Luv4All Foundation.
